Please join us on Sunday August 21 at 5 pm for a Special Snowflake Supperclub Victorian High/Low Feast at The Palace of Industry, a vintage store/bar in the Kenton neighborhood at 5426 N. Gay (just off Killingsworth).
We will be serving up a Victorian-inspired supper featuring versions of food from the manors of the rich, and street cart food that would have been eaten by the working class poor. Taking our cue from the vintage treasures and the Victorian textile mill for which the shop is named, we researched food and cookery in the Victorian era and sketched the following menu:

Oyster butter
Bacon drippings
Spiced beer jelly
Salt cod and potato
mousse
cheddar
Fresh and pickled radishes, pickled onions
Potted shrimps with curry & cracker
Chilled cucumber soup with Yarrow and Tarragon
Chicory and watercress salad with creamy mustard
dressing
Roast Beast
Savory pies of game and summer
vegetables (all-veg)
Fig and muscovado meringue: rose cream, chocolate
drops, citrus chips
Rice pudding: condensed milk, bay, rum, banana
powder, lime syrup
We are really excited about the menu-it might vary a bit from what we've listed above, but this is the direction we're taking. We hope you'll be able come out-perhaps in some vintage finery? Please know that reservations are non-refundable but that you may transfer your tickets in advance of the event to other people via a private party exchange (craigslist, friends, neighbors, etc.)—just be sure to email us to let us know.
